Babs Weighs In
Now, I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t ordinarily get emails from Barbra Streisand; we’ve drifted apart in the years since “A Star is Born,” but she is nonetheless keeping in touch at election time. Seems she favors the Kenyan Socialist over the conniving Empty, yet expensive, Suit. Color me surprised.
In an era where we have considerably less talented “celebrities” like Lindsay Lohan choosing the other party, and proudly so without a trace of irony, I’d like to argue that Barbra’s opinions do carry some weight, and it was probably smart of the Obama team to haul her out at this late and evidently perilous date.
Her letter begins:
The Democratic Party urgently needs your help.
We’re just weeks from the most important election in a generation and every single thing Democrats like you and I spent a lifetime fighting for is on the line.
Republican Super PACs are pounding President Obama and Democratic candidates with millions of dollars of vicious attack ads. And, they could tip the balance of the election for Tea Party extremists.
That would be a disaster for America and we can’t let it happen. We must close the funding gap.
Sadly, it’s just another plaintive nag for money, but it did finally get me to toss a few bones to our our (mostly) lame incumbent, which is saying something, since I delete dozens of such pleas each day, the fact that this one worked must have something to do with the above video.

Thanks for standing in; I doubt I’ll traverse that miserable stretch of road ever again, but somebody has to do it.

Eh? I’m voting Third Party, and that’s the end of it. I find Willard RMoney to be probably one of the more loathsome & despicable entities around, but I still see precious little difference between him and Obama.
I guess, at the end of the day, maybe it’ll be marginally better to have Obama “win,” but no way in hades will I toss any of my hard cash at that lying empty suit. Let his BFF Jamie Dimon, Jeffrey Imelt, etc, come up with the ready. They’ve certainly got PLENTY to toss around, mainly from ripping ME off. Yesterday I duly noted that I made a whopping 8 cents (Yes – $ .08) on one of my bank savings accounts for the month of Sept… and I have a reasonable amount of money stashed in there.
Toss a few sheckles Obama’s way?? NO WAY.
Like always, it’s the choice between the lame and the truly awful; with Wall Street winning either way.
