I Toilet To Ya

A couple of weeks ago, when I was tapping away at the Firebagger place, I made the not very daring prediction that the Southern states singled out by the Voting Rights Act of 1965 were gunning for its overturn courtesy of our conveniently composed Supreme Court.  Since we all know that racism in America only exists anymore in the dark hearts of darkies who hate Whitey, why not?

Well now it’s official: the Texas Republican Party has put in its platform that that crummy ol’ law ought to be repealed, ’cause it’s so hurtful to Confederate-Americans.   Surprise, surprise.  Next, the 14th Amendment, and later, after that, emancipation itself.  Take that, Yankee Carpetbaggers!

Not to worry, this time around slaves can be of any color, except dollar-bill green, of course.  We will finally have a Colorblind Society, one way or the other.   With slave quarters, if not hoop skirts.

Here’s my take from June 7…..

And that floozy hag of an Arizona “governer” has picked up on the “Democrats want illegal aliens to vote” line after the Supreme court demolished most of SB1070, while, at the same time, declaring victory over the decision. I would say that these people are complete idiots and morons, except that their strategy seems to be working. Ah but it may not make much difference in the not too distant future because we’re all going to hell in a handbasket (literally in my state) as the atmosphere heats up.

Did you notice that Brewer looked more than usually disheveled when she announced her “victory?” I think she’d been on a bender again.
(Ain’t it funny that both Virginia and North Carolina have declared that climate change and sea level rise don’t exist, as they slowly slip beneath the waves….)

She did indeed look pretty out of it – not that she ever looks sterling – and I suppose she had good reason considering how hard her “signature” legislation was slapped down. I admit to experiencing a bit (or maybe a lot) of schadenfreude watching her attempting to put a good face on the whole thing. My bad.

Don’t feel bad about that; the woman is a nut and a witch, and she gives all cocktailhags a bad name. At least she’s learned to read from prepared notes….

What would be really entertaining would be to see a group photo of the entire Republican House and Senate membership. Who knew there were so many shades of white ? Is that a smudge – oops – Allen – you were supposed to be on a coffee run !
