Mix Shake Stir…

I first became aware of this book because of a blog I was following on Twitter. I really do wish I could drink more… as well as more often, but I can’t. My particular combination of body mass and biochemistry will not permit such behavior without dire consequences. [I mostly get sick.]

However, I am thinking of making that easy freezer peach jam, because it won’t require heating up the kitchen much, but that really doesn’t seem much like a post worthy of this site. The book does, though…

And here’s a photo of it:

If you would like to read Wasabimon!’s review of this master of mixology text, part one is here and part two, here. I gather that some of the recipes actually involve food, as well as alcohol. That’s always a good thing when imbibing.

I do have plans to celebrate with some drinks very soon… One of the faculty I work for will be getting a new assistant, a full-time one. And it won’t be me! Hurrah! That will call for a drink. Or several.

The book is available to interested parties at either Amazon or Barnes and Noble.

And for additional entertainment value, check out that blog and arrow down to the Star Wars Edition of food photography… August 11th, I think. Or just click on this link.

Looks like a great book, Karen, and I’m sorry I stepped on your post, having worked myself into a frothy concoction over Seattle and plastic bags. Must have been the heat….

Thanks, Karen, for your usual inviting and eclectic post, accompanied by great links.

The cover of the book is enough to make one go buy it (but that’s what book covers are for, right?). Anyway, the several pictures suggest many, many refreshing drinks, with or without booze.

Might be better without booze if a lot of interesting women are at a party, thumbing through the book.

    I could live with that!

    You’re always so gracious, Dirigo!

How’d you like that Star Wars figure preparing to lay waste to a raspberry only to be done in by it and its cohort?
